The year is 700 AD. Ancient Polynesians have settled on Tahiti and something has driven them to explore the sea to the north. Carrying no more than twenty men and over five tons of cargo on a single hull outrigger canoe these Polynesian pioneers sail over a thousand miles to Hawai'i.
Ancient Navigators (having a primarily oral tradition) would learn to Navigate from their fathers. Sons would spend late afternoons and evenings with their fathers and grandfathers learning to read the ocean and the sky. Understandably though, no matter how much instruction they received the young navigators would undoubtedly see the ocean while standing in their canoes as the other men would look up to them fully trusting that they would survive and feel fear. Fear of failing perhaps. Fear that at that crucial moment, all that was learned would be forgotten.
It is now 2009 AD and the Navigators at the University of Hawaii definitely do not sail long distance. The closest to sailing any of us have come is probably kayaking along the coast in Kalihi. We do, however, share one thing with the Navigators of old. What would be forgotten would not be the lessons learned. It would be the fear. The way the Navigators understood courage was to have faith in the words of their father. With this courage they knew that they could sail anywhere and they would be safe. Similarly, The UH Navs find strength by having faith in the Word of their Father.

Conviction
I've been mildly obsessed with conviction lately and I've learned a few things. Conviction from the Holy Spirit is more than quilt, in fact it is entirely different. This kind of conviction ties your heart's desires with God's so that whatever delights the heart of God delights yours. The Holy Spirit can convict you regarding a certain part of your life. When That happens you seek to follow His will in that need to do so. Sure, you feel bad about all the times in the pas when you went ouside Go'dswill regarding that particular part of your life but what keeps you to God's way isn't guilt it's pleasure. Pure pleasure, from the Author of pleasure.

A Girl's Parents Want Her Back After Conversion
The short version of the story is that there's a girl who ran away from home after converting to Christianity from Islam for fear of being harmed and now her parents want her back.
Just Curious, what do you think about this?
For the whole story:

Joy and Peace
It has been said that "Peace without Joy is contradictory." For the non-believers joy is peripheral while sorrow is primary. Why? It is said that this is so because for the non-believer the fundamental questions in life are unanswered while the peripheral questions are answered. For the christian joy is primary while sorrow is peripheral. It is said that this is so because for the christian the fundamental questions of life are answered while the peripheral questions may not be. Joy, therefore, comes from the peace we the believers have in Christ.
